DDA Summer Assignment; Personal Reflection All techniques of Art Creation So, for this second reflection, I'm gonna focus on the skill of creativity, and for an example, I'm going to use this creature that I've also made in Illustrator. So, as you can probably tell, I'm gonna focus on being creative with creatures. So, to explore this, I once again researched animals, but this time I chose to research alien-looking animals, and more so, alien-looking insects. Then, after I had a good idea for some very strange inspirations, I decided to combine a few of those random ideas to make one very wacky and unique creature. Specifically, the one above, which I made by combining the looks of a Spider, a Frog, and weirdest of all, a Tyrannosaurus Rex. So, to conclude, I explored being creative by:
-Looking through strange animals and insects -Thinking up a creature composed of the anatomy of many random ones -Making said creature in Illustrator Citations: https://listverse.com/2013/03/10/10-insects-that-belong-in-an-alien-world/ Well, that's all for this post, so I guess I'll see ya later

DDA Summer Assignment; Personal Reflection All techniques of Art Creation So, I know that I completely forgot this project until now, so I just wanna say I'm very, VERY sorry that I didn't get this out within the range of time I was supposed to. Anyway, on with the reflection. For this reflection, I've decided to focus on the skill of color choice, and for an example, I'll use this fairly simple picture that I probably took way too long trying to perfect: This creature. So, this only shows one particular part of Color Choice, which is choosing colors based on realism. There's many more things that Color Choice can be part of, like choosing colors for logos, writing, and even in the realism thing, there's choosing color for plant life, landscapes and more, but for this example, I'm gonna focus on Creature Color Choice. So, for exploring color choice, I decided to take a look back at a lot of the strange and wacky creatures I've made over the last couple of months. The process of exploring this included looking at my creatures, and also looking through photos of random real-life creatures and organic matter to figure out what would be the best color choice for the creature above. To be specific, the creature above is based on a rotting human corpse, at least 7 days old, where the flesh would turn red from rotting. It's also important to make realistic color choice even with more minor details, so with the eyes, I made them a sort of milky yellow, which would fit for a dead animal or human. Essentially, the way I explored Color Choice, specifically Creature Color Choice, was by looking through what something like my creature would look like in real life, at least in terms of color, and then making it in Illustrator. So, to conclude, I explored color choice by:
-Looking through photos of real creatures -Researching what a creature like mine would look like -Making the creature based on those quota Citations: https://www.aftermath.com/content/human-decomposition/ Well, that's all for this post, so see ya later, I suppose. Bu-bye! |
AuthorHello! I'm Alex, or John. I already told you quite a bit about myself in the About Me Page, so I won't say too much here. I'll just say that I like to do things like roleplay, make concepts for characters and stuff like that, and overall like to do things that require visual things, like drawing. Archives
